Christian Service Commission Member ~ Members serve as models and resources to enable the parish to put Catholic social teaching into action.
Commitment: Monthly meetings, September through June
St. Vincent de Paul Society ~ Vincentians strive to be open to the needs of those who request help for food, rent, utilities and other kinds of assistance. Teams take turns making home visits. Some assist in project such as clothing drives and holiday food basket preparation and distribution.
Commitment: Monthly meetings; team home visits on a rotating basis, other projects as they arise. Individuals and couples welcome.
Respect for Life Committee ~ Following the teaching of the Church, members of the committee promote the right to life as the most basic human right, from which all others flow. They conduct educational activities to sensitize the community to the complex issues involved and organize fundraisers to help people choose life.
Jessee Tree ~ A Christmas project which provides gifts for those less fortunate in the community.
Commitment: Varies, generally November -December. Look for a separate sign up prior to the event.
Prayer Chain ~ A telephone/email network of parishioners willing to answer the call for prayer for specified individuals or situations.
Community Outreach ~ Sandwich makers: volunteers prepare and deliver one dozen sandwiches by noon Sunday mornings. Drivers: volunteers pick up.
LaMora Clinic ~ Members of the parish raise funds and engage in other volunteer efforts to support this medical clinic in El Salvador as well as raise awareness of issues in El Salvador.
Vegetable Garden ~ Organic vegetables are grown in a bed behind the parish church. Volunteers plant, water, weed, harvest and put the beds to rest at the end of the season.
Commitment: Varies from spring through the fall, perhaps 1 to 1 1/2 hours per week.
