Written Dreams in Paper Refugee Youth Art Show
Resurrection hosted an Art Exhibit on January 30, 2022. The Artwork was all created by Refugee Young People who are in foster care under programs run by Samaritas. This agency operates a foster care program for young people fleeing their homelands. People from our parish and community came out Sunday on a cold winter afternoon to attend Written Dreams in Paper Art Exhibit” -- “Suenos Escritos en Papel”. About 130 people attended the art exhibit and donated $703 toward the Samaritas Refugee Youth Foster program. People from several different churches in the area and the Rayyan mosque in Plymouth attended and had a chance to learn more about Resurrection.
The Exhibit featured speakers and refreshments while you browse the art. Two young ladies who graduated from the Refugee Foster program spoke at the Exhibit. We all had a chance to meet these young ladies and hear about their experiences. Board members and staff from Samaritas also attended and talked about the need for Foster Parents, Volunteers and Mentors for refugees.
